Der kurze Überblick über die mehr als 1.000 Jahre währende, wechselhafte Geschichte des christlichen Polens mündet in dem EU-Beitritt des Lands am 1.Mai 2004 und soll dem besseren Verständnis der aktuellen state of affairs dienen. Im Anschluss erfolgt die fallspezifische Untersuchung auf mögliche Veränderungen des Einflusses der Amtskirche, zuerst auf den Staat und folgend auf die Gesellschaft.
